Allan Carson, MSc. (Candidate), BIT, A.Ag
Allan Carson is back at the University of Northern British Columbia to complete a master's degree. His thesis project is focused on the use of native seeds for revegetation of mined lands; Allan has native plant trials established in stockpiled topsoils at Huckleberry Mines near Houston, B.C. During his undergraduate studies, also at UNBC, Allan conducted research on the effects of simulated Moose browsing on Aspen which looked at the behaviour of stem dieback and the effects of browsing on stem growth and bud dormancy. Allan also studied plant systematics and has been active over the past four years with photo documenting plant species in northern and central B.C.; this is reflected by his ongoing involvement with the UNBC and Aleza Lake Plant Systems Database and Eflora BC. The summer of 2010 will be Allan's fifth field season working with CBA
Ltd. .
